Lecoq journey
Summer stage 2024 is an opportunity to delve into Jacques Lecoq pedagogy, physical theatre and theatrical creation. We invite you to make this Lecoq journey with us and discover the dramatic image and the concepts of movement through the work with the Neutral Mask, your own Clown and the laws of comedy, the tools for theatrical creation and the poetic dimension of the theatre of objects.
Neutral Mask
8/07 - 12/07
We will work on the basic concepts: stage presence, urgency, receptiveness, movement of body in the space and dramatic image.
Neutral mask is the central tool of Jacques Lecoq’s pedagogy. The intensive course approaches you to the acting with it. The neutral mask develops essencially actor’s presence in the space that surrounds them. It allows to get rid of body tensions and develop body plasticity. The mask helps an actor to enter into the state of openness, receptiveness and desire to discover. It allows to see, hear, feel, touch elemental things with the freshness of the first time.
We work with basic concepts of body movement:
– economy,
– articulation,
– accentuation,
– breathing,
– rhythm,
– projection
and of elemental acting:
– stage presence,
– urgency,
– active listening,
– action – reaction,
– interaction with the space,
– dramatic image.
The course consists of 20 academic hours.

Clown
15/07 - 19/07
The clown, a universe where innocence and joke converge, as well as entertainment and poetry, the world of laughter, that offers us infinite possibilities for play and creation. We invite you to investigate and discover your own clown.
We will work on:
- search for one own’s ridicule,
- game of truth,
- nonsense,
- joke,
- contact with the public,
- clownish walk,
- prohibited gestures,
- circus clown,
- the show,
- clown, poetry and singing,
- clowns in everyday life situations.
The course consists of 20 academic hours.

Theatre of objects
22/07 - 26/07
The course consists of the exploration of the poetry of theatre done with the objects. We will train the following aspects:
- Manipulation and exploration of objects.
- The dynamics of objects in the space.
- The metaphor of objects.
- The poetical image.
- Storytelling.
The course consists of 20 academic hours.
